These Resources Will Help You Plan A Successful Trip.

THE KEY IS TO PLAN EARLY

Valid Passport

If you don't have a passport, apply now. The process can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. If you are traveling with your child, check birth certificate requirements. Parent signatures are needed for passport issuance. If you already have a passport, check the expiration date. You can't be less than 6 months of expiration during your travel abroad. If there is a possibility of extending your stay abroad and your passport expires, you will have challenges getting a renewal. Renewals can only take place at the embassy.

Disease Protocols

It is important to review history and current resources for health issues along your travel route and at your destination. Check CDC global recommendations. As your host, we can provide the most up-to-date information as to how things are being handled in our region. Check with your local travel clinic  and primary care physician on recommendations for vaccinations and prophylactics. Due to the current pandemic, caution is advised in knowing the protocol for testing requirements and mask mandates along your travel route. As more information is made available, changes are implemented by governing authorities. Check often on re-entry requirements (like PCR tests). It can be costly if you don't check ahead of time, as the testing may be mandatory before boarding a plane and there may be xetra fees involved.

Baggage

Check airline baggage requirements before you plan what you are bringing. Important factors to consider are:

  • Carry-On vs Checked Baggage

  • Number of Free Bags

  • Maximum Weight of Baggage

  • Category of Travel (Economy, Business or 1st Class)

  • Dimensions of Baggage (especially important for carry-ons)

  • Electronic Devices and Sensitive Equipment Like Cameras

  • Added fees for extra baggage (pay early)

  • Airline procedures for lost  or damaged luggage

  • Dimensions for hair/skin products

  • Prescription Medications and Supplements

  • Food/Snacks
